Mumbai: The disinvestment of the government in the current financial year is at the lowest level under the eleven years of the Modi government’s rule. The disinvestment rate in the current financial year is at the lowest level since the Modi government came to power in the financial year 2014-15.
In the current financial year, the government has raised only Rs 9319.05 crore from disinvestment. Which is said to be the lowest in the last 11 years.
The figure was Rs 16,507.29 crore in the last financial year. There is only one fortnight left to end the current financial year, so the amount received through the sale of stake in government undertakings is expected to be less than the financial year 2021-22.
13534.40 crore rupees were raised in FY 2021-22. Keeping in mind the instability of the market, the government has stopped setting disinvestment targets.
The government has generally been generally announced disinvestment goals in the budget.
Government sources said that in the current financial year, the government has raised funds by selling stake in GIC, Cochin Shipyard, Hind Zinc.
Sources also said that since the Modi government came to power in 2014, the government has raised an estimated Rs 4.50 lakh crore through disinvestment.
