As the festive season approaches, there is a big good news for central employees and pensioners. The Central Government has announced the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) just before Diwali, which has brought smiles on the faces of lakhs of employees and pensioners. This is not a small increase, but a bumper increase. Come, let us know whose Diwali is going to be more bright this time.
The people of the 5th Pay Commission are in trouble!
The government has opened a box of happiness for those employees or pensioners who are still getting salary or pension under the 5th Pay Commission. There has been a huge increase of 8% in his dearness allowance, due to which his DA has increased from 466% to 474%. This decision will be considered effective from July 1, 2025. Even though the 5th Pay Commission ended in 2005, many people are still getting benefits under it.
6th pay commission employees also got big benefits
The employees and pensioners covered under the 6th Pay Commission have also not been disappointed. His dearness allowance has increased by 5%, due to which his DA has increased from 252% to 257%. This rule will also be effective from July 1, 2025.
Recently, 7th Pay Commission employees also got good news.
Just a few days ago, the government had increased the DA of employees covered under the 7th Pay Commission by 3%. This decision directly benefited about 49.19 lakh central employees and 68.72 lakh pensioners.
What is dearness allowance and why does it increase?
Every year, to reduce the impact of rising inflation, the government reviews dearness allowance twice a year (in January and July). Its direct objective is that the pockets of employees and pensioners should not be burdened by rising prices. Such increase during festivals is no less than a bonus.
