Mirzapur, 20 August (HS). District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan conducted a surprise inspection of the Vikas Khand City Office on Tuesday. Expressing displeasure over finding that the death certificate was issued incorrectly in the death certificate register, she directed the BDO to issue death certificates. She directed the Block Development Officer to improve his working style otherwise strict action will be taken.
On observation of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Housing Register, the houses were shown as complete in the register, while on checking the portal, it was found that houses with first phase geo tagging, nameplate, plaster, shuttering not opening, were also shown as complete. In the year 2023-24, 62 out of 64 Prime Minister's houses were shown as complete. But on checking the photographs of some houses on the portal, most of the houses were found incomplete. The District Magistrate directed the District Development Officer to get it re-investigated. In the works being done under MNREGA, it was found that the work has not been done as per the instructions given as per the rules.
In the financial approval register, more work has been shown in some villages, while in some villages no work has been shown except plantation. The District Magistrate directed that the District Development Officer should inspect how many IDs have been generated and how many were approved in comparison to that, how many works were started and how many were completed. The complaint register and FTO register were not made at all. During the inspection of MNREGA cell and housing cell, dirt was found in the office. On which the District Magistrate expressed strong displeasure and gave instructions. On the delay in disposal of complaints received in the Right to Information Act and Tehsil Diwas Register, the Block Development Officer was directed that the complaints should be disposed of on time and in a quality manner. He also gave strict instructions to all the desk assistants and said that they should perform the work related to them with complete transparency and quality.
