News India Live, Digital Desk: Rules for Tulsi Puja: In Sanatan Dharma, the Tulsi plant is considered extremely sacred and revered. Tulsi plant is seen in every Hindu house, which is worshiped as the form of Maa Lakshmi. It is believed that worshiping Tulsi keeps happiness and prosperity in the house and the grace of Lord Vishnu is also received. But there are some rules of Tulsi Puja, which is very important to follow. One of these rules is the very important rule that Tulsi should not be touched nor should they offer water on some special days of the week. By doing this, you can get inauspicious results instead of auspicious and Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, can also get angry.

So what are those two days when Tulsi should not be touched?

According to the scriptures, there are two days a week when you should avoid touching the basil plant or offering water to them:

1. Sunday:
Sunday is dedicated to Lord Suryadev. It is said that Tulsi Mata rests on Sunday and hence she should not touch. Breaking basil leaf on Sunday brings poverty in the house and can cause obstacles in life. If you want to offer Tulsi for Lord Vishnu, then keep basil leaves on Saturday evening.

2. Ekadashi day:
According to the Hindu calendar, Ekadashi comes twice every month. The day of Ekadashi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and on this day Tulsi ji is forbidden to touch. It is believed that Tulsi Mata was married to Lord Shaligram on Ekadashi, so she is rested on this day. On this day, breaking or watering basil leaves is not considered auspicious. This can bring misfortune and negative energy to the house.

Other special days:

In addition to the above two days, Lunar eclipse, solar eclipse, Amavasya and Purnima Tulsi should also be avoided to touch the day. These days, breaking basil leaves and offering water is also considered taboo.

Therefore, if you want to maintain the grace of mother Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu in your house, then definitely follow these rules. Except these special days, on the rest of the days you can do Tulsi Puja as per rules and offer water to them.
