News India Live, Digital Desk: Navratri celebrates all of us and nine days are absorbed in devotion to Maa Durga. These holy days begin with ‘Ghatasthapana’ or ‘Kalash Establishment’, where we install Kalash by law and sow barley in it. Now when the worship and worship of the mother is fulfilled, it is the turn of ‘Kalash Visarjan’, which is an important part of this entire worship. Come, let us understand in simple words what it is, when it happens and how it is done.
Why do Kalash immerse?
Kalash immersion means after invoking the goddess, on the completion of the worship, to pay obeisance to her honorably. It teaches us that everything in life has a beginning and an end. In the Kalash, through immersion, we ask for blessings to maintain happiness and prosperity in life, through immersion. This shows us that mother is with us, even if we do not give them off.
When will the urn immersion (date and Muhurta) be done in 2025?
Usually, Kalash is immersed on the tenth day of Navratri i.e. Dussehra or Vijaya Dashami. Its dates in Shardiya Navratri 2025 (Consult an almanac or local Pandit ji for the final and exact date and Muhurta, as it can change a little for every field) Will be around this Dussehra.
On the day of Dussehra, immersion is done in Shubh Muhurat itself. This Muhurta usually comes in the afternoon. See the correct time from a knowledgeable priest by seeing the almanac.
Method of immersion of urn (how to do?)
The method of immersion of the urn is very straightforward and devotional. Can do this at home or at a holy place:
- Praying to mother: First of all, go to the place of worship. Apologize for any mistake made in these nine days from Maa Durga and thank them for coming and blessing them.
- Remove flowers and garlands: Slowly remove flowers, garlands, leaves etc. on the Kalash.
- Use of Water: Sprinkle the water of the urn a little in everywhere in the house. This brings positive energy to the house. Offer the remaining water to the roots of basil or any other trees (but spray a very small amount of spraying, do not give more). This water is considered very sacred.
- What to do with jowar (barley)? Break some of the barley that was sown with the urn and keep it in the place or locker instead of keeping your money. It is considered a symbol of growth of wealth. Immerse the rest of the jawars in a river, pond or flowing water. If this is not possible, then you can also offer them in trees and plants.
- Coconut and Prasad: Brain the coconut placed on the urn and distribute it to everyone as offerings. The fruit of nine days is coconut, so it must be eaten.
- Kalash and soil: Clean the vessel of the Kalash and keep it for the next worship. If you have used earthen lamps or earthen pots, then they can also be kept clean or immersed in the form of soil. Earthen Ganesha or Lakshmi idols are often immersed in the river.
- Aarti and Donation: Perform an last aarti of the mother before immersion and you can also do some charity according to your ability.
Immersion mantra:
During the immersion of Kalash, you can chant the original mantra of Maa Durga “Om and Hr Klein Chamundayai Vichhe”, or take away from the goddess and say:
“Gachch Gachch Surshasthe Swashanam Parmeshwar,
Poojadin Successful
(O Parmeshwari Devi, you should move the best place, make our worship successful and rain on us.)
In this way, Kalash immersion is a beautiful and satisfactory end of the worship of Mother Durga, which inspires us to wait for her arrival again next year.
