News India Live, Digital Desk: The winter season has arrived, and in this season, along with dryness of the skin, one of the problems that bothers the most is cracked heels. Cracked heels not only look bad, but sometimes they cause so much pain that even walking becomes difficult.

Most of us resort to expensive creams and lotions to avoid this problem, but many times the results are not significant. But do you know that the most effective and cheapest solution to this stubborn problem is available in your kitchen itself?

Let us know about some such simple home remedies, which can make your cracked heels soft and beautiful again.

1. The Ripe Banana Magic

Banana is not less than a boon not only for health but also for your skin. It has natural skin moisturizing properties.

  • How to use: Take a well-ripe banana and mash it so that a smooth paste is formed. Now apply this paste on your cracked heels and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Later wash the feet with lukewarm water. You will start seeing the difference within a few days.

2. Honey’s Healing Power

Honey is an excellent natural moisturizer. It also has anti-bacterial properties, which prevent infection in cracked heels and help in healing the cracks.

  • How to use: Take lukewarm water in a tub and mix half a cup of honey in it well. Now soak your feet in this water for 15-20 minutes. After this, clean your feet by rubbing them gently.

3. Gentle Rice Flour Scrub

The biggest reason for cracked heels is the layer of dead skin on them. To remove it, rice flour works as an excellent and natural scrubber.

  • How to use: Make a thick paste by mixing one spoon each of honey and lemon juice in two spoons of rice flour. Gently massage your heels with this paste for 5-7 minutes and then wash with water. This will remove dead skin and make the skin soft.

4. Petroleum Jelly and Lemon Juice (The Classic Combo)

This is probably the oldest and tried recipe. Petroleum jelly locks the skin’s moisture in and the mild acid of the lemon helps soften the dead skin.

  • How to use: Before sleeping at night, clean and dry your feet thoroughly. Now mix a few drops of lemon juice in one spoon of petroleum jelly and apply it thoroughly on your heels. After this, wear cotton socks and sleep. In the morning you will find that your heels have become softer than ever.

Include these measures in your daily routine and then see, you will not need to hide your cracked heels in shoes and socks.
