Home Minister and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah announced the introduction of a new cooperative taxi service in Parliament. Under this scheme, people running car, auto and bike taxis will be able to register, so that they will get full profit directly and no commission will be taken. This initiative will be different from the current model of companies like Ola-Uber, in which drivers have to pay a large part of the earnings.
Cooperative revolution for drivers
Amit Shah said in Parliament,
“Till now the profits from taxi services used to go to the hands of big traders and companies, while the drivers used to get less profit. Our new scheme will change the situation and the drivers will get their full rights. This is a big step towards cooperative revolution.”
He also informed that soon a cooperative insurance company will also start, which can become the largest insurance company in the country in future.

Direct earnings: The entire earning will go directly to the driver’s account.

Registration System: Drivers with four wheel taxi, auto and bike taxi will be able to join this service.

Relief in big cities
The scheme can bring a major improvement in the transport system in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Till now there was dependence on services such as Ola and Uber, but the increasing commission and declining earnings had increased the problems of drivers.
Now under this new cooperative service, drivers will get more benefits and customers will also get better and affordable services. This announcement of Amit Shah is expected to start a new chapter in the taxi industry.
