Economic Growth: Kashmir will now get Vande Bharat Express in just 3 hours

The country’s modern and high speed Vande Bharat Express Now Kashmir will soon be seen running in the valley. This historical step will cover the distance between Katra and Srinagar in just 3 hours, which will reduce the time of travel and people will get a new, pleasant experience.

How will this be possible?
All this is possible due to the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, which is proving to be a gamechanger for Jammu and Kashmir. 119 km long tunnels and 32 km long bridges have been built on this route, out of which 90% of the work has been completed. With unique engineering samples such as Chenab Bridge, the project is one of the most challenging tasks of Indian Railways.

What will happen to the route of this Vande Bharat Express and what is special?

• Travel time: The journey from Katra to Srinagar, which is currently very long and tired by road, will be completed in just 3 hours with Vande Bharat Express.

• Comfortable travel: The train will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, which will have facilities like comfortable seats, Wi-Fi, GPS based information system, automatic doors and CCTV cameras, which will make your journey even more pleasant.

Rent, Timing and Stopage (Estimated/Possible Information):

Although fare and timings have not been officially released yet, some estimates can be made based on the experience of other Vande Bharat trains:

• Rent: Vande Bharat Express usually consists of two classes – Chair Car (CC) and Executive Class (EC).

  • Chair Car (CC): Its fare can range between about ₹ 1,200 to ₹ 1,500.

  • Executive Class (EC): Its fare can range between ₹ 2,000 to ₹ 2,500. It provides additional facilities including better legrooms and food.

    
    

• Timing: This train can run from Katra in the morning to reach Srinagar after noon, and then in the afternoon, he can leave Srinagar for Katra. The correct timing will be announced soon by the Railways.

• Potential Stopage: There may be some major stations on this route such as Udhampur, Banihal, Qazigund and Anantnag.
