The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday attached movable and immovable properties worth Rs 7.93 crore belonging to Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Urvashi Rautela, Sonu Sood, Mimi Chakraborty, Ankush Hazra and Neha Sharma in the case of illegal online betting platform 1xBet.

According to the ED statement, the total attached assets in the illegal online betting platform case is Rs 19.07 crore.

The ED investigation revealed that the celebrities had knowingly entered into endorsement deals with foreign entities to promote 1xBet through their representatives. These advertisements were given in lieu of payments made through foreign entities to hide the funds linked to Proceeds of Crime (POC) derived from illegal betting activities,” the ED said in a statement.

The investigation also revealed that 1xBet was operating in India without permission and using fake branding and advertisements to target Indian users through social media, online videos and print media, the ED investigation said.

The statement further said, “Payments for endorsements were made through layered transactions using foreign intermediaries to conceal the illicit source of funds.”
