News India Live, Digital Desk: Ed Tightens Grip on Illegal Land Business: Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Uttar Pradesh has taken a major action in cases of illegal acquiring land-property. In this action, the ED team raided about 14 locations associated with Chaturbhuj Yadav alias ‘Chhagur Baba’. The hideouts are mainly spread to several places including Lalganj and Shivartanganj in Pratapgarh district, where ED officials carried out a thorough search operation for hours. According to sources, Chhagur Baba is accused of illegally making property worth crores and involvement in money laundering. It is being said that he is indulging on a very large scale in the land business and has a deep nexus (connivance) with the land mafia. The ED team is looking for evidence of Baba’s immense assets and illegal transactions, consulting every suspicious document and every corner. In this whole case, Chhagur Baba’s name is considered to be very impressive at the local level. His big political people and government officials are also reported to have close relations, which they have allegedly used to increase the empire of their land. Due to this effect, he is accused of scams worth crores of government and private lands. During the raid, ED teams have also seized many important documents, digital evidences and some cash, which can prove to be helpful in opening the entire poll of this illegal business. After investigating these documents, the ED is now preparing to interrogate some employees of Tehsil and Registry Office. It is believed that after questioning these employees, there can be many more shocking revelations about this entire racket and can also be tightened on government officials and other persons who are involved in this illegal business. The raid shows the strict attitude of the ED against illegal assets and money laundering.
