– New weather system will be active from tomorrow
Bhopal, January 14: Severe cold continues in Madhya Pradesh, although compared to previous days, many districts have got relief from dense fog. The weather remains clear in most areas. Light to moderate fog was observed in Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna and Satna in the morning. The effect of cold winds coming from North India is being felt most in the northern parts of the state.
According to the Meteorological Department, the sky is expected to be clear and sunny in most areas of the state on Wednesday. There will definitely be relief during the day in big cities including Bhopal, Indore and Ujjain, but the night temperature will remain low. The effect of severe cold will continue in Gwalior-Chambal region along with Sagar and Rewa divisions.
On Wednesday morning, there was moderate fog in Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna and Satna. Visibility was between 2 to 4 kilometers in more than 15 districts including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Sehore, Shajapur, Dewas. The Meteorological Department said that the weather will be completely dry on Wednesday and the same condition is likely to persist for the next four days. Today, there is neither cold wave alert nor cold day situation in any part of the state.
Gwalior-Chambal and Katni areas are the coldest
Due to icy winds in the northern parts of the state, the temperature remains quite low. Gwalior, Chhatarpur’s Naugaon and Katni’s Karaundi were the coldest places on Tuesday night. The minimum temperature was recorded at 6.5 degrees in Gwalior, 4.7 degrees in Karaundi of Katni, 5.3 degrees in Chitrakoot of Satna and 5.5 degrees Celsius in Nagaon. Rail traffic was also affected due to fog and many trains were delayed. The temperature in Pachmarhi, the only hill station of the state, was recorded at 5.8 degrees. The temperature was recorded at 6 degrees in Khajuraho, 6.2 degrees in Datia, 6.4 degrees in Mandla and Rajgarh and 6.5 degrees Celsius in Rewa. Whereas the minimum temperature was 10.2 degrees in Bhopal, 9.5 degrees in Indore, 11 degrees in Ujjain and 9.5 degrees in Jabalpur.

Even during the day, the effect of cold was seen in the northern and central parts. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 24.3 degrees in Gwalior, 23.4 degrees in Datia and 23.2 degrees in Sheopur. The temperature was 21.8 degrees in Pachmarhi, 23.4 degrees in Khajuraho, 23.5 degrees in Naugaon, 22.4 degrees in Rewa, 23 degrees in Sidhi, 24 degrees in Tikamgarh and Umaria and 23 degrees in Malajkhand.
New Western Disturbance will be active from tomorrow
According to the Meteorological Department, a strong western disturbance has been active in the Western Himalayan region since January 15. Due to this, its effect can be seen in Madhya Pradesh after two to three days. There is a possibility of Mawatha falling especially in the northern parts of the state.
