News India Live, Digital Desk: Bihar government has taken a historic decision to digitally empower farmers and deliver the benefits of government schemes directly to their accounts. Now farmers will not have to spend even a single rupee for ‘Farmer Registry’ in the state. Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit has issued instructions that the first payment will be taken at the Common Service Center (CSC) or Vasudha Centers. 15 rupees Fees will no longer be charged. This entire expense will now be borne by the Agriculture Department.
Why is Farmer ID important?
As per the clear instructions of the Central Government, Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana The benefit of the upcoming installments of (PM-Kisan) will be available only to those farmers whose ‘Farmer ID’ has been created.
Transparency: This will stop fraud and only farmers with genuine land holdings will get benefits.
Digital Identity: This ID will be a digital record of farmers’ land, crop, fertilizer use and income.
Benefits of the schemes: This ID will also be mandatory in future for subsidy on seeds, fertilizers, crop insurance and subsidy on agricultural equipment.
Work in mission mode: Special operation from 2 to 6 February
Bihar government has set a target that the registry of all eligible farmers of the state should be completed as soon as possible.
Special Camp: A campaign to create ‘Farmer ID’ will be run in the entire state in mission mode from 2 to 6 February 2026.
Goals and Rewards: The district in which the registry of more than 50% farmers is completed, that district Rs 1.5 lakh Will be given a prize of Rs. At the same time, the districts that complete 35% target will get Rs 50 thousand.
Situation: At present there are about 85 lakh farmers in Bihar, out of which only about 30 lakh have been registered so far.

What to do if there is a mistake in the name?
It is often seen that the spelling of the name is different in the Aadhar card and land papers (Jamabandhi). In such a situation the portal will not create your ID.
