A roof of a tin and unlimited dreams
Iqbal’s childhood went through financial crisis. His family lives in a simple house with a tin roof. Father, Shakeel Ahmed, work to repair and make puncture of bicycle. With this work, they barely earn only 300-400 rupees in the day. Despite such low income, Shakeel Ahmed never allowed any shortage in his children’s education. He himself is right, but always gave wings to his son’s dreams.
Father’s struggle, son’s success
Iqbal’s father Shakeel Ahmed proudly says, “I never let my children feel that we are short of money. His education was my first priority.” Iqbal also did not let his father’s sacrifice go in vain. He studied with full dedication and hard work. He faced many challenges during the UPSC preparation by staying in Delhi, but the family’s struggle always remained his inspiration.
When Iqbal was selected for IAS, there was an atmosphere of celebration in the whole family and locality. The father who had added the wheels of bicycles in the scorching sun, today his son has changed the wheel of the fate of the family with hard work.
