There was a time when a picture of an elderly person used to come to our mind as soon as hearing the name of heart diseases or heart attack. But today’s truth is completely different and scary. 30-40 year old youth, who are starting their lives, are also now falling in this deadly disease.
The reason for this is not hidden-sitting on a chair for hours, burger-pizzah food, office stress and ‘zero’ in the name of exercise. This lifestyle is gradually making our heart weak.
But is its treatment only in the round of expensive medicines and doctors? According to yoga guru Baba Ramdev, not at all! The real treatment is hidden in our own Indian yoga system. If you take out only 10 minutes for yourself every day and do it easy, then you will not have to fear heart diseases.
1. Gomukhasana – ‘Sanjeevani’ for lungs and hearts
This asana is not only the exercise of your hands and shoulders, but it is no less than a lifeline for our heart and lungs.
- How does it work? This asana acts to open our chest and lungs. When the lung capacity increases, the flow of oxygen in the body is better. This simply means that more clean and oxygen rich blood reaches our heart, which strengthens the muscles of the heart.
- How to do:
- Sit on the ground comfortably.
- Fold your left knee and keep the heel near the right hip.
- Now bend the right knee and keep it just above the left knee.
- Now take the knee above (right), move the same hand (right) back to the shoulder.
- Move the left hand from the bottom to the back and try to trap the fingers of both hands.
- Keep the waist straight and take a deep breath for some time. Then repeat the same process from the other side.
2. Stretched Tortoise Pose – Eradicate stress, make the heart relaxed
This asana may look a bit difficult, but its advantages are countless. This not only makes your body flexible, but it is an infallible way to reduce stress and anxiety.
- How does it work? When we are under stress, our blood pressure increases, which is very dangerous for the heart. This asana calms our nervous system, which brings brain peace. When the mind is calm, the heart also remains healthy on its own.
- How to do (simple form):
- Sit on the ground and spread both legs in front and make a short distance between them.
- Now, while exhaling, slowly bend forward.
- Remove your hands from under the feet and spread it outwards.
- Try to bend as much as possible, but do not forcefully.
- Stop a few seconds in this situation and then come back slowly.
