Mirzapur, 21 August (HS). A one day Filaria eradication awareness program was organized on Wednesday in the Botany Department of KBPG College located in Musaffarganj of the city. Teachers, employees and students were given information regarding the causes, prevention and treatment of Filaria. Medicines were also distributed.
District Filaria Officer Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta said that Filaria is an incurable disease. It can be controlled in the first two stages. This is a disease which is detected after 15 to 20 years. Coordinator Botany Department Head Dr. Harish Kumar Tiwari said that interested teachers and employees can get deworming medicine from the Botany Lab from 11 am onwards. During this, Prof. Devendra Pandey, Ashok Kumar Singh Chandel, Amit Kumar Singh Parmar, Jitendra Prasad, Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Shyam Narayan Singh, Ramlakhan Pandey etc. were present.
