IIncome Tax Refund: The season for filing Income Tax Returns (ITR) is over. People whose tax was deducted more than their salary are now eagerly waiting for their refund. Many people have already received the message of “credit” on their mobile, but there are many who wake up every morning and check their passbook or messages, but there is no trace of refund.

Often people think that government departments are working slowly. But CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes) Chairman Ravi Aggarwal has recently made it clear that the delay is not on the part of the department but due to a small negligence of the taxpayers.

Let us know what is the reason due to which your money is getting delayed in reaching you.

The department said- We are ready (Speed Processing)

Ravi Aggarwal told in a program that now the old times are gone when one had to wait for months for refund. Today’s system is so fast that sometimes the money comes into the account within a few days of filing ITR. He said, “We have the money and we are ready to refund it, but where should we send the money? If the ‘route’ is closed then how will the money reach?”

Biggest Hurdle: Your Bank Account Issues

The biggest reason for not receiving refund Bank account not valid Is. The Chairman said that there are lakhs of taxpayers whose refund is ready, but the system is not able to send it because:

  1. Wrong account: The bank account information given is either closed or not active.
  2. Error in name: There is a difference between the name in the bank account and the name written in the PAN card.
  3. Validation did not happen: You have entered the bank details, but that account is not registered on the Income Tax portal. ‘Pre-validate’ Didn’t do it.

“If you don’t answer, what do we do?”

The second big reason is that the department wants to ask you something, but you are not telling.

  • Many times there is a difference between the ITR form and your actual transaction (AIS/TIS). The department sends you a notice or mail saying, “Brother, this calculation is wrong, please check it.”
  • Taxpayers do not check or respond to their mail. Unless you provide clarification, refund will not be issued.

What do you have to do now? (Do these 2 things immediately)

If you want your pending money to be released immediately, log in to the Income Tax portal today and check the following:

  1. See ‘Bank Account’ section: Check there that your account ‘Validated’ Is it showing or not? If ‘Failed’ is written, please correct it again or add another active account.
  2. See ‘Pending Action’: Check on the dashboard of the portal whether the department has asked for any notice. If there is any ‘demand’ or question, answer it immediately.

Remember, the money will be credited directly to your account as soon as the mistake is rectified!
