Earlier, Jairam Thakur had appealed to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to visit Karsog and other affected areas and herself to assess the damage caused by cloudburst and floods. He said that it is necessary to make an effective plan for relief, reconstruction and rehabilitation in these areas.

Heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh

A sudden flood warning has been issued in districts like Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur, which has increased the risk of landslides and roads being closed.

So far 56 people have died

Landslides have also occurred in many areas due to rain. According to the news agency PTI, the Mandi district has been the most affected of the 68 assembly constituencies of the state, where the rain is causing serious damage to life-property and infrastructure. From the beginning of the monsoon from June 20 to July 11, Himachal Pradesh has lost about Rs 751 crore. During this period, due to heavy rains in the state, there have been sudden floods, 22 times cloudburst and 17 times landslides. So far, more than 90 people have lost their lives, out of which 56 deaths are directly related to rain.
