Cricketer Shivalik Sharma rape case : After arresting the former player of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians from Gujarat in a rape case, it has now been sent to jail. A team of Kudi Bhagat police station in Jodhpur took action on serious rape charges and arrested cricketer Shivalik Sharma from Vadodara. Shivalik is accused of sexually abusing a young woman by pretending to be married.
The police immediately took action after the girl’s complaint.
Jodhpur police confirmed the arrest, saying, “Action was taken soon after the girl lodged a complaint.” The victim’s medical examination has been done. Apart from this, a statement has also been recorded before the magistrate under Section 164. The police have collected complete evidence in this case, after which legal action has been taken.
The victim and cricketer met in 2023.
On 2 January 2024, a young woman from Jodhpur lodged a complaint at Kudi Bhagatasani police station. The complaint alleged that 27 -year -old cricketer Shivalik Sharma of Vadodara, Gujarat raped her by pretending to be married and then refused to marry. According to the girl’s complaint, in 2023, when she went to visit Vadodara, she met Shivalik. After this, in August 2023, the Shivalik came to Jodhpur with the family and both got engaged.
Shivalik accused of rape after engagement
The girl has alleged that Shivalik came to her house on 27 May 2023. Since there was no one at the girl’s house, Shivalik forced her and made physical relations with her. When the girls protested, he promised to marry them. After this, Shivalik stayed at his house till 3 June and repeatedly raped her.
Shivalik’s family expelled the girl from the house when she came to Vadodara
The victim has also alleged that Shivalik took her on a visit to Mehndipur Balaji, Jaipur and Ujjain and had sex with her there too. Shivalik promised the victim repeatedly. However, when the girl reached Vadodara to meet her family in June 2023, her family asked her to break the engagement and thrown her out of the house.
Who is Shivalik Sharma?
Born on 28 November 1998 in Vadodara, Shivalik Sharma is a great fan of cricket. Due to his lack of interest in studies, his father gave him complete freedom to play cricket. Shivalik started his cricket career in 2016 with the Under-19 Trophy. He then made his debut for Vadodara in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season. Then Mumbai Indians bought him for 20 lakhs in 2024. However, he stayed away from cricket for a long time and Mumbai Indians released him before IPL-2025. Now Shivalik has been arrested in a serious case like rape, causing his cricket career in crisis.
