Ballia, August 13 (HS). The accused who murdered his friend who worked in the same construction business has been arrested. He killed Naveen for just Rs 57,000. The police presented him before the media on Tuesday.

Superintendent of Police Vikrant Veer told reporters on Tuesday that Naveen Kumar Ram, a resident of Bhati in Sikandarpur police station area, was missing from home on June 30. Naveen Kumar's missing report was filed on July 9. Later on July 27, a case was filed in Sikandarpur police station against Brijesh Rai, his parents, his sister and Rakesh alias Rinku Rai, who also live in Bhati village. On August 3, Naveen Kumar's father Ramratan brought his son's pant-shirt and slippers in front of the police and said that these were found at Diyara area Kharid Ghat Sikandarpur, which belonged to our son.

SP said that the main accused Brijesh Rai, who kidnapped and murdered Naveen Kumar, was arrested near Kudra Mor with illegal arms and cartridges and the motorcycle used in the crime. On his information, the sharp weapon used in the crime and blood-stained clothes were recovered.

Brijesh Rai, who was involved in the kidnapping and murder of Naveen, was hiding with his relatives. He was planning to appear in court. According to SP Brijesh Rai, during interrogation, he said that Naveen Ram from his village was his friend. Both of them used to do construction business together. Naveen owed Rs 57,000 in connection with that. This was the reason for the dispute with Naveen. On June 30, he brought Naveen from his house on his motorcycle and made him drink alcohol in Sikandarpur and drank himself too. When Naveen refused to pay his dues, he took him to the banks of Ghaghra river and killed Naveen by attacking him with a sharp cutter blade. After killing him, Brijesh put Naveen's body in a pit present among the bushes and hid it by covering it with Kush and fled from there.

SP said that Naveen's family and police were looking for Brijesh since the incident. But Brijesh was hiding in his relatives' house. He told his mother Nainkumari and his sister Priyanka about the incident and said that if anyone comes to ask about me or Naveen, then tell them that my son is also missing since that day. However, police arrested him.
