News India Live, Digital Desk: Semicon India 2025: Today the world trusts India … and is ready to make the future of the semiconductor with us. “These words belong to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who gave the message of preparations for India to the whole world from the platform of ‘Semicon India 2025’. In this big event held in New Delhi, PM Modi held an important meeting with the CEOS of the world’s veteran semocover companies and shared his language to make India a global hab.
What is a semiconductor and why is it so important?
The semiconductor, which we call ‘chip’ in the common language, is the heart and mind of the world of today’s technology. From your mobile phones to cars and medical equipment to the equipment of defense, every electronic thing runs on these chips. Till now India has depended on other countries to make chip, but now the government wants to change this situation completely.
“Chips are ‘digital diamond’ today – PM Modi
The Prime Minister described the importance of chips in very simple terms. He said that in the last century the world used to run on oil, which was called ‘Black Gold’. The strength of today’s world is in a small chip than the nail and these chips are ‘digital diamonds’ i.e. digital diamonds. PM Modi expressed confidence that the day is not far, when the smallest chip made in India will bring the biggest change in the world.
India preparations: Work continues in mission mode
The government has launched a big scheme of Rs 76,000 crore under the ‘India Semiconductor Mission’.[3][8][9] Its effect is also visible:
- Work is going on on 10 semiconductor projects in the country, in which about 1.5 lakh crore has been invested.
- Units of making chips in places like Gujarat, Assam are getting fast.
- Companies like Tata and Micron will soon start production of commercial chips made in India.
- PM Modi was also presented with the first chip ‘Vikram’ made in India, which is a symbol of the country’s increasing confidence
Why global companies trust India?
Big companies of the world are looking at India today with hope. A company like AMD has talked about investing $ 400 million, there are major reasons behind this:
- Talent: The world’s 20% chip design engineers are Indians.
- Big Bazaar: The demand for semiconductor in India is increasing very fast and it is expected to reach $ 100 billion by 2030.
- Government’s support: The government has made the rules easy for companies, so that they do not face any problem.
This conference is not just an event, but the announcement of India’s big jump, which is going to make it a very big power in the world of technology.
