This month is considered to be very important religiously because it contains many big fasts and festivals from the worship of the ancestors to the worship of power. This month, while people in Shraddha Paksha on one side remember their ancestors, on the other hand, in Sharadiya Navratri, they are drowned in devotion to Maa Durga.

Pitra Paksha (18 September to 03 October 2025)
This month begins with the Shraddha Paksha dedicated to the ancestors, which starts from Bhadrapada Purnima and runs till Ashwin Amavasya. During this time people do pindadan and offerings for the peace of the soul of their ancestors.

Indira Ekadashi (28 September 2025, Saturday)
This Ekadashi, which comes during Pitru Paksha, has special significance. It is believed that by fasting on this day, the ancestors get salvation and the faster also gets a place in Baikuntha.

Sarvapitri Amavasya (03 October 2025, Friday)
This is the last day of Pitra Paksha. On this day, all those ancestors are worshiped whose date of death we do not remember.

Sharadiya Navratri (October 04 to October 12, 2025)
From the next day of Amavasya, the nine -day festival of worship of Shakti will begin. Ghatasthapana will be done on the first day and then nine forms of Maa Durga will be worshiped for nine days.

Dussehra / Vijayadashami (13 October 2025, Monday)
The festival of Dussehra will be celebrated on Dashami date the next day of the conclusion of Navratri. This festival is a symbol of the victory of good over evil. On this day, Lord Rama killed Ravana.

Papankusha Ekadashi (28 October 2025, Tuesday)
This Ekadashi, which comes after Dussehra, is considered to destroy sins. Worshiping Lord Vishnu on this day wash all sins.

Sharad Purnima / Kojagari fast (02 November 2025, Sunday)
This is the last and most special day of Ashwin month. On the night of Sharad Purnima, the Moon is full of all its sixteen arts and there is a rain of nectar from the sky. There is a tradition of making kheer on this night and keeping it under the open sky.
