Mumbai – A 66 -year -old doctor has been sentenced to three years in jail for sexually abusing a 17 -year -old minor. The incident occurred on 18 March 2018 when the victim was working at a doctor’s shop.
The shop belonged to a doctor from Ghatkopar. Under her routine, the victim went to the doctor’s house to take the shop’s keys. The doctor called her to her store room and as soon as she went inside, the government alleged that the doctor sexually assaulted her.
The victim ran away and informed her uncle about the incident, who lodged a police complaint. Ghatkopar police station has registered a case and started investigation.
After examining the evidence and CCTV cameras, the court came to the conclusion that the charges against the accused were proved. The government side presented CCTV footage, on the basis of which the court sentenced the doctor to three years in jail.
In the order, the court said that the accused violated the dignity of the victim and committed an indecent act by making physical contact. This incident has a profound impact on the victim’s mind and no compensation can reduce her trauma.
