Mumbai: The incident of suicide by a girlfriend has come to light in Naigaon, as she could not tolerate the shock of her lover’s suicide. The couple who committed suicide have been identified as Jitendra Verma and Chhaya Gupta. Jeetendra was pressurizing his girlfriend Chhaya to stay in a live-in relationship. But when he refused, Jitendra committed suicide on Saturday.
24 -year -old Jitendra Verma and 17 -year -old Chhaya Gupta were in love. Jitendra Nigaon lived in Arvind Chali in Kolhi village Ashanagar in East. Jitendra used to work in a private company. The minor was studying. Jitendra wanted to live in a live-in relationship with Chhaya. He was urging him for this. However, she was not ready for the shadow. She was young and not ready to live together. Chhaya went to his house to meet Jeetendra on Saturday. At that time Jeetendra again requested the shadow to stay in ‘live in relationship’. This caused a fight between them. Jeetendra was afraid that if the shadow would not be with her, she would leave her in future. He was telling him that you should be in a live-in relationship or else I will commit suicide. However, Chhaya did not take his words seriously. So at night he committed suicide by hanging a rope with an iron angle in the house. In this incident, a case of accidental death was registered under Section 194 of the Indian Penal Code at Naigaon Police Station. When Chhaya came to know about this, she was shocked and became depressed. His family tried to convince him. However, she could not recover from the shock. He felt that if he had agreed to Jeetendra, his life would have been saved. She regretted that she was responsible for her death. Therefore, after coming into depression, he committed suicide by hanging himself in the house on Sunday afternoon.
In this regard, Assistant Police Inspector of Naigaon Police Station Shailendra Patil said that Jitendra and Chhaya had a love affair. Jitendra was requesting Chhaya to stay in live-in. While the shadow was not ready due to being small. Therefore, Jeetendra committed suicide on Saturday and Chhaya also committed suicide on Sunday, as she could not bear the shock.
