A warning has been issued of ‘double attack’ of rain and dense fog in many parts of the state.

Rain will increase problems in western UP

First of all let’s talk about Western Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department estimates that there may be light to moderate rain in many districts of Western UP including Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Baghpat. This rain will further increase the problems of the people suffering from dry cold. After the rain, the cold combined with the icy winds will feel even more deadly. There can also be a huge drop in day temperature, due to which shivering will be felt even during the day.

Fog ‘blackout’ on more than 30 districts

Along with rain, the problem of fog is going to become even bigger. An alert of severe fog has been issued for the next few days in more than 30 districts of the state. These also include big cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Bareilly and Moradabad.

The condition of fog will be such that visibility on the roads can reach near zero during morning and night. This will have a direct impact on traffic. The administration has advised people, especially those traveling on the highway, to exercise extreme caution.
