Gmail to Zoho Mail transfer: For years it has been the ‘post office’ of our digital life. Be it conversation with friends or office work, every letter comes and goes here. But now, to promote ‘desi technology’, many government departments of the country are leaving Gmail with an Indian alternative, Zoho Mailare adopting.

Hearing this, many people are thinking of moving to Zoho, but one fear stops everyone – “What will happen to my old, important emails? Will they all get deleted?”

If you are also worried about this, then don’t panic! Moving to Zoho Mail is like moving house, but it lets you take all your old ‘stuff’ with you – all your emails, contacts and calendars.

So, let us know how easy this journey of moving from Gmail to Zoho is.

If you want to use Zoho Mail for business or your company:

Imagine, you could change your entire company’s email system with a single click! Zoho has made it so easy.

  • step 1: First of all, go to zoho.com/mail and create an account with your company’s domain (eg – mycompany.com) and verify it.
  • Step 2: Now login to Zoho Mail admin console and ‘Data Migration’ Go to.
  • Step 3: Here ‘One Click Migration’ Or ‘Google Workspace’ Select the option.
  • Step 4: ‘Allow’ to give Zoho access to your Google Account.
  • Step 5: Now simply select all the users whose data you want to transfer (e.g. emails, contacts, calendars) and ‘Start’ Press the button.

That’s it, your work is finished! Now Zoho will securely move all your emails behind the scenes into your new ‘home’.

If you want to move your personal Gmail to Zoho:

This is almost equally easy.

  • Step 1: Permission required from Gmail (generate app password)
First of all, go to the security settings of your Gmail and turn on 2-Step Verification and from there ‘App Password’ Create. This is a kind of special key that you will give to Zoho.
  • Step 2: Tell Zoho where to source (IMAP settings)
Now go to ‘Data Migration’ settings of Zoho Mail and IMAP Select option.
  • Step 3: Fill in the source and destination
    • Source (from where): Select Gmail (imap.gmail.com) and enter the app password you created in Step 1.
    • Destination: Enter your new Zoho Mail ID.
  • Step 4: Start the transfer
Now ‘Start Migration’ Click on it. Zoho will start importing all your old Gmail emails, including folders, into your new Zoho account one by one.

Some important things you should know:

  • Have some patience: If your Gmail account is very large and old, this process may take a few hours to 1-2 days.
  • Don’t miss old letters either: Even after you’ve fully shifted to Zoho, you can turn on ‘Forwarding’ on your old Gmail, so that any new emails arriving there will go straight to your Zoho.

This way, you can shift to a new and more professional email platform without any data loss and without any tension.
