The Government of India has launched ‘e-Shram Card Yojana’ to secure the future of crores of laborers and workers in the unorganized sector of the country. This scheme is proving to be a boon for daily wage laborers, rickshaw pullers, domestic workers, construction workers and people who earn their living by doing odd jobs. Under this scheme, every eligible laborer registered will be given a pension of ₹ 3000 every month after the age of 60, so that he does not have to depend on anyone in old age.
What is E-Shram Scheme and who will get the benefit?
The e-Shram scheme directly provides an identity and social security cover to crores of laborers who do not have any organized record. Through this card, the government prepares a database of all the unorganized laborers of the country, through which the benefits of any future government scheme can be directly extended to them. Its biggest attraction is the pension benefit linked to the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, under which eligible workers get financial assistance.
Not only pension, you will get these big benefits also
This scheme includes not just pension but many other important benefits:
- Monthly pension of ₹3000: On completion of 60 years of age, the beneficiary gets a pension of ₹ 3000 every month.
- Financial Aid: In case of death of a worker in an accident or permanent disability, the family is given financial help by the government.
- social Security: This card acts as a social and economic security shield for the workers.
- Direct Benefits: In future, e-shram card holders will be the first to get the benefits of any scheme brought by the government for laborers.
