The UP government is providing financial assistance of ₹ 1000 every month under the “Old Age Pension” and “Widow Pension” scheme. This money comes directly into the bank account in the form of installments of ₹3000 every three months.

But in the year 2026, the government has made some new rules, which are very important to be followed, otherwise your pension may stop. 1. Old age pension: Right to live with dignity after 60 years
If your age is 60 years or more and you are a resident of Uttar Pradesh, then you can avail the benefit of this scheme.
- Who can apply:
- People living in the village: Whose annual income is less than ₹ 46,080.
- City dwellers: Whose annual income is less than ₹ 56,460.
- An essential condition: You are not getting the benefit of any other government pension scheme.
2. Widow Pension: Government’s support for single women
This scheme is to provide financial strength to those women whose husband has died.
- Who can apply: Any widow woman above 18 years of age, whose annual family income is less than ₹2 lakh.
- An essential condition: If the woman remarries, this pension will stop.
This money gives women the courage to live with dignity without being dependent on anyone.
Attention Don’t forget these 3 new rules of 2026
The government has made certain rules mandatory to ensure that the money reaches the right person:
- E-KYC: You will have to go to any Jan Seva Kendra (CSC) once a year and show your thumb impression that you are alive and eligible for the scheme. This is very important.
- Aadhaar-Bank Link: Your bank account must be linked to your Aadhar card. The money is sent directly to this account.
- NPCI Mapping: Go to your bank and find out whether your account is active to receive money from government schemes or not.
Do not be careless in these things, otherwise your pension may be stopped.
