A relief news has come for the government employees of Tripura. Chief Minister Manik Saha made an important announcement in the assembly on Friday, stating that the state government has decided to increase the dearness allowance (DA) by 3 percent. This increase will be applicable from 1 April 2025, which will now give a total of 33 percent DA to the state employees, which is currently 30 percent.
The government will increase the weight of Rs 300 crore annually
Chief Minister Saha clarified that this decision will cost the government an additional financial burden of about Rs 300 crore every year. Despite this, the government has taken this step in view of the good and economic balance of the employees. He said in the Assembly, “I announce the issue of three percent DA for government employees and pensioners from April 1, 2025.” Hearing this statement, there was a wave of happiness among the employees and pensioners present in the House.
Trying to bridge the gap between central and state employees
Chief Minister Manik Saha also said that his government is working towards gradually eliminating the difference between the central government and the state government employees regarding dearness allowance. He assured that this process would move slowly, but the state government is committed to providing equal benefits to its employees.
Employees will get financial support
This announcement has certainly brought relief for employees facing inflation. This 3 percent increase in DA may seem modest, but it will put some additional amount in the employees’ pockets every month, which will prove to be helpful in everyday expenses. This step is not only towards improving the economic condition of the employees, but it also shows the sensitivity and responsibility of the government.
