Government Notice: Notice issued on selling Pakistani flags and goods to e-commerce companies

News India Live, Digital Desk: Government Notice: The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued notice to major e-commerce platforms including Amazon India and Flipkart regarding the sale of Pakistani symbols on their platforms, Union Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Wednesday informed.

The Union Minister shared this information through a post on the X social media platform.

He further said that such insensitivity will not be tolerated.

Joshi said, “E-commerce platforms are instructed to immediately remove all such materials and follow national laws.” The minister also warned all online retailers to strictly follow Indian laws while doing business in the country.

Last week, ccpa Had issued 13 notices against the listing and sales of walkie-talkie on their platforms without proper frequency disclosure, licensing information or equipment type approval (ETA) to major digital markets like Amazon, Flipkart, Misho and OLX.

According to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, wireless operating licenses are being sold on e-commerce platforms without compulsory and clear information regarding compliance with applied laws.

Initial analysis revealed the worrying amounts of such listing on these platforms, including around 467 on Amazon, 314 on Flipkart, 489 on Misho and 423 on Tradindia, which reflects the widespread scale of the issue.

Union Minister Joshi had said that sales of non-non-non-non-non-approval devices are not only a violation of statutory obligations, but can also pose a significant risk for national security tasks.

The minister posted on the X social media platform, “All vendors are required to strictly follow the regulatory standards applied to maintain consumer rights and prevent illegal trade practices.”
