News India Live, Digital Desk: The much awaited monsoon session of Parliament is going to start in just a few days, and for this the political corridors have intensified. The largest party of the opposition, the Congress, is in full preparation to surround the government on various issues. To finalize its strategy, the Congress has called an important meeting of the parliamentary party on 15 July. The meeting will be chaired by the Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi, where the policy to be adopted during the upcoming session will be discussed in depth. It is believed that in this session she will play an important role in uniting the Congress and coordinating with other opposition parties. The Congress has already made it clear on which issues they want to surround the government. Mainly the ongoing violence, rising inflation and unemployment in the country will be in their priority. In addition, the Congress government is also preparing to question subjects such as preparations for G20 meetings, population census and guarantee of MSP (minimum support price) for agricultural products. The emphasis of the party will be on the fact that there is not only a debate on these serious issues in Parliament, but a detailed and meaningful discussion. The Congress wants to take an aggressive stand both within and outside the House. The party is also focusing on setting up better ‘floor coordination’ with various opposition parties so that the government has to face a strong, organized opposition. The party believes that reading the list of achievements of the government will not work, but should have a concrete discussion on serious topics. The opposition is constantly trying to strengthen its unity, under which a big meeting is also scheduled in Bengaluru after Patna. Senior leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Jairam Ramesh are actively involved in these strategies. At the same time, the ruling party is also fully prepared for the session, and it is expected that the government will vigorously present its recent achievements such as the preparations for the G20, the launch of Chandrayaan-3 and the speed of economic development. This session is likely to be quite ruckus, especially on the situation of peace restoration and violence affected areas in Manipur, there is a continuous demand of the opposition that the Prime Minister should make a statement in Parliament.
