News India Live, Digital Desk: Government Relief: There has been a big news of relief for millions of poor and needy families! Under the free ration distribution scheme being run by the government, distribution dates have been declared for the month of August. The scheme running under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana ensures that the needy citizens of the country do not face lack of food. In the month of August, this special distribution process will start from August 21, 2025 to 31 August, 2025. Under this scheme, all card holders will get 5 kg of grain for free per unit in their cards. This grain will be given as a mixture of both wheat and rice, so that the beneficiaries can get adequate fulfillment of nutrients. For example, if the name of four members is recorded in a ration card, they will get a total of 20 kg free grain (5 kg for each member). To ensure that no qualified beneficiaries are deprived of this scheme, extensive arrangements are being made at the public distribution system (PDS) shops across the state. It has also been appealed to the people to get the ration of their quota within the scheduled dates. If they do not do this, the grain they get for that month will not be added to the next month’s quota. This rule has been made so that the implementation of the scheme continues smoothly and no one unnecessarily stock the grain. In this entire distribution process, information related to their quota and distribution center will be sent to the eligible card holders through SMS. Along with this, a toll free number 18001800150 and 1076 have also been issued for any complaint or information related to public distribution system, so that the beneficiaries can get immediate assistance in any hassle. This scheme is a great relief especially for families who are financially weak and are struggling with increasing inflation after epidemic. This ensures that no person in the country sleeps hungry and every citizen can get the right to food. This initiative of the government is playing an important role in ensuring the country’s food security.
