Greater Noida will get rid of jam: NH-9 will add new expressway- like road, work started!

The National Capital Region (NCR) is one of the fastest developing areas adjacent to Greater Noida, Delhi. However, the problem of increasing traffic and jam has been a major challenge for the residents and businessmen here. To get rid of this problem and to provide jam-free movement to millions of Greater Noida, Greater Noida Authority has started the work of an ambitious road project. This new road will directly connect Greater Noida to National Highway 9 (NH-9) and will reduce the traffic jam of the region to a great extent.

Project goal and importance

This new road project will be connected to Greater Noida to Delhi-Meerut Expressway (east NH-24, now NH-9). This connectivity will not only save time and fuel for daily travelers, but will also give impetus to the economic development of the region. Currently, passengers take a long time to reach NH-9 from Greater Noida and often have to face severe jam. This new road is designed to reduce these challenges.

What is the work being done?

Officials have said that the work of construction of this new road has started on a war footing. This will include the following major works:

• Widening and strengthening: The existing roads will be widened and repaired so that they can handle the increasing traffic burden.

• New bridges and flyovers: Where needed, new bridges and flyovers will be constructed so that the flow of traffic at various intersections remains smooth.

• Seamless movement: The entire road is being designed in such a way that once its work is completed, there is no hindrance to reach NH-9 from Greater Noida. It is being developed almost with similar facilities as expressway.

• Lights and signage: Better visibility at night and sufficient lighting and clear signage (signal boards) will be installed for smooth traffic flow.

Liberation from traffic jam problem

The biggest advantage of this new road project will be that it will significantly reduce the traffic congestion in Greater Noida. Vehicles coming from Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida to Greater Noida and returning from there will now get a chance to move more fast and smoothly. This will reduce the time of travel, reduce fuel consumption and will also have a positive effect on pollution.

With the completion of this project, Greater Noida will emerge as another large transit hub. It will also provide a better option for logistics and commercial activities, as the movement of goods will intensify from here.
