New Delhi, May 14 (HS). Last year's runner-up Gujarat Titans is out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Gujarat was eliminated after the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday was washed out due to rain. On the other hand, KKR have now secured a top-two finish, which may give them the advantage of getting an extra chance to reach the final through the playoffs.
KKR last finished in the top two 10 years ago in 2014, when they also won the title.
This result also ensured that the encounter between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants will now be a knockout game, with the loser definitely being eliminated. Both Gujarat and KKR can still influence the points table. Both teams have one match left. Gujarat will travel to Hyderabad to face one of the playoff contenders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, on May 16, while KKR will travel to Guwahati to face Rajasthan Royals on May 19, which will also be the final league match of the season.
