Hamas ready, Israeli’s stance

A great hope is raised in the midst of a fierce war in the Gaza Strip. Terrorist organization Hamas has announced that it has accepted the ceasefire resolution arbitrariness by Egypt and Qatar. This step is being seen as an important development to end the struggle and reduce the human crisis in Gaza.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniah has informed the Prime Ministers of Egypt and Qatar. Hamas says the proposal fulfills all their major demands, including permanent ceasefire, full return of Israeli soldiers from Gaza Strip, refund into their homes of displaced Palestinians, increase in human assistance and exchange of prisoners.

However, Israel has not immediately said ‘yes’ on this announcement of Hamas. According to Israeli sources, the proposal that Hamas has talked about accepting the proposal by Egypt and Qatar finally ‘does not match’ completely ‘completely’. Israel has indicated that Hamas has made this announcement on the basis of its “false interpretation” of the conditions of the proposal, to seem that Israel has rejected it.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel would decide to send a delegation to the ‘Egypt’ to ‘all necessary security issues’ so that more conversations can be held on the terms of the ceasefire. It shows a wonderful and cautious attitude of Israel. The Israeli Defense Minister has made it clear that Israel’s military campaign in Gaza’s southern city of Rafah will “not stop”, even though the matter of ceasefire proceeded. This may mean that Israel wants to maintain military pressure to ensure security.

Several stages of the ceasefire that is being discussed. In the first phase, 33 Israeli hostages near Hamas will be released in a period of 40 days. In return, Israel will release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. Later stages may include permanent ceasefire and exchange of remaining hostages and prisoners.

At the moment, the world’s eyes are on whether the final agreement between Israel and Hamas will be able to get relief from this devastating war. This exercise to balance between talks and military campaigns will prove to be a delicate turn for the peace process.
