News India Live, Digital Desk: A worrying news has come out from Deoria district of UP, where the outsourcing workers of Maharshi Deorah Baba Medical College have suddenly gone on strike on Thursday morning. Due to their sudden strike, the health services of the medical college have been badly affected, due to which the patients and attendants are facing a lot of trouble. This strike of contract workers has brought an atmosphere of chaos in the entire college and all the work has come to a standstill.
Salary not received for 4 months, how to go home?
The biggest reason for the displeasure of the employees is that they have not received their honorarium/salary for the last four months. Imagine how difficult it becomes to manage household expenses without salary. To express their pain and displeasure, all the outsourcing workers completely stopped work from 8:00 am on Thursday.
Important work stopped, patients worried
Due to this strike, work has stopped in almost all the important departments of the medical college. Work has come to a standstill at all places including pathology (where blood tests are done), OPD (where patients consult doctors), registration counters (where patients are registered). Those who came for treatment are standing in long lines and no one is listening. There is a direct allegation on the medical college administration that due to non-payment of honorarium, it has become very difficult for them to meet their expenses.
Officers arrived, but things did not work out
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, Principal-in-charge Dr. Shweta Singh and CMS Dr. HK Mishra immediately reached the spot and made every possible effort to convince the striking workers. He also appealed to the employees to return to work, but the outsourcing workers, who were adamant on their main demand of salary payment, did not listen to anyone. They clearly say that they will not end their strike until they get their outstanding honorarium. This situation has created great problems for the patients of Deoria.
