Many people lost their lives and dozens are left hanging between life and death in a head-on collision between a government bus and a gravel-laden truck on the Hyderabad-Bijapur Highway. The accident was so horrific that the souls of the spectators shuddered.
What happened that morning?
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus going from Tandur to Hyderabad was packed with passengers. People were traveling to reach their destination, but little did they know that death was waiting for them on the way. Near Chevella Mandal, a speeding truck coming from the wrong direction hit the bus head-on. The collision was so severe that the bus was blown to pieces.

After the collision, the truck laden with gravel overturned and fell on top of the bus. All the gravel loaded in the truck entered the bus, due to which many passengers got buried under it and they did not even get a chance to recover. There was only screaming and mourning all around. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the local people immediately came forward to help and informed the police.
The rescue team reached the spot and started taking out the trapped people by removing the debris and gravel from the bus with the help of JCB machines. The injured were immediately sent to the nearby Chevella Government Hospital. Those whose condition was more serious have been referred to major hospitals in Hyderabad. Doctors say that the condition of many injured remains critical, due to which the death toll is likely to increase.
Police has started the investigation of the matter. Initially this accident is believed to have happened due to the negligence of the truck driver. This terrible incident has once again raised serious questions regarding safety on the roads.
