The Indian Meteorological Department IMD has issued a warning of heavy rainfall in many states of South India. This warning has been released due to the possibility of a low pressure system being formed, which may change the mood of the weather. For the last few days, monsoon has been active in different parts of the country, and in the coming days, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the states of South India like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka etc. The Meteorological Department, especially in the Western Ghats regions of Kerala, Mahe, South Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, has expected heavy rains between July 16 to 18, as well as an orange alert for districts like Nilgiri and Coimbatore. The effect of monsoon is seen in East and Central India as well as other parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are also estimated in states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, while warnings of heavy rains have been issued in West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand. In recent times, there has been a flood-like situation in states like Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, due to heavy rains, due to which the authorities have to be cautious and rescue work. Heavy rains have also wreaked havoc in Pahari states like Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, where incidents like landslides and road closure have come to light, which has disturbed life. The Meteorological Department has issued vigilance for all these areas and advised local residents to take necessary precautions.
