The earth was shaken due to a strong earthquake in Myanmar on Friday. The earthquake was so powerful that its effect was felt till Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale was 7.7. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Sagiing, Myanmar. A popular bridge over the Iravadi River in Mandalay, Myanmar collapsed due to earthquake tremors. It is believed that earthquake tremors were also felt in China and parts of Taiwan.
The most damage occurred in the city of Mandley in Myanmar.
A skyscraper in Bangkok collapsed due to the earthquake. The under -construction building could not withstand the earthquake tremors. The survey and GFZ Geology Center of Germany said the afternoon earthquake was at a depth of 10 km or 6.2 miles. Due to which the shock of a strong earthquake was felt.
India extended help
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern over the situation after the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. He said that he is concerned about the situation after earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. I pray for the safety of all. India is ready to provide all possible assistance. We have asked the administration to be vigilant in this regard. Along with this, the Ministry of External Affairs has been asked to stay in touch with the governments of Myanmar and Thailand. Pray is that everyone should be safe.
People save people’s lives amidst earthquake
The earthquake caused water to flow from the ponds of Thailand and Myanmar. It has been said that many buildings have been destroyed. According to local media, the earthquake caused panic in the buildings and ran down the stairs of tall buildings and hotels in the densely populated central Bangkok. People were asked to stay on the streets to avoid casualties.

There is a lockdown situation at Thailand’s airport. And all flights have been canceled. The Prime Minister of Thailand has announced an emergency in Bangkok. There are reports of buildings collapsing in many cities in Thailand and Myanmar. There are also reports of a large number of people disappeared due to falling a tower in Bangkok. A 4.0 magnitude earthquake was also felt in Garo Hills of Meghalaya.
