The demand for electric vehicles is increasing continuously in India and the world. Many consumers prefer to buy electric vehicles, saying goodbye to the rising fuel prices. Keeping this increasing demand among consumers, many automobile manufacturers are launching electric vehicles in the market. There is a good demand for electric bikes here. Recently leading automobile manufacturer Honda launched its first electric bike in China.

Honda has introduced its much awaited first electric bike, Honda e-VO. This bike has been launched in China and has been developed with the help of a local company. It is Honda’s first bike in the electric two -wheeler segment, with a strong range, modern features and futuristic design.

The design of the Honda e-VO is reminiscent of the sporty streetfighter bike, designed to attract young people. Its next wheel is 16 inches and the rear wheel is 14 inches, which are equipped with semi-solicuction tires. The weight of the bike is 143 kg in the base model and 156 kg in the high-range model. It is available in black and white color options, including a 7-inch digital TFT dashboard.

Battery and range

Talking about the battery and range, Honda e-VO provides two battery options. The first variant comes with a 4.1kwh battery, which gives a range of 120 km. This bike is charged in 1 hour 30 minutes. The second high-range variant has a 6.2kwh battery, which can run up to 170 km once charged and is fully charged in 2 hours 30 minutes. Both variants can be charged with portable AC charger.

Performance and power

Talking about the performance, Honda e-VO has an electric motor that generates a top power of 20.5 Bhp, which provides fast riding experience. It has riding modes like Eco, Normal and Sport. The bike also has features such as dual-channel ABS, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and battery SOC display, which puts it ahead in terms of technology.

What will be the price?

The price of this bike has been kept between CNY 30,000 to CNY 37,000 in China, which comes from about 3.56 lakh to 4.39 lakh rupees in Indian currency. This price has many premium features and range available in the electric two-wheeler range.

When will it be launched in India?

At present, no official information has been given about the launch of Honda e-VO in India. This model is designed for China in collaboration with local partners. However, the electric two-wheeler segment in India is growing rapidly and this bike is also likely to enter in future.

If the Honda e-VO is launched in India, it will give a tough competition to electric bikes like TVS Icube, Ola S1 Pro and Ether 450X.
