Lucknow, July 15 (HS). Host Lucknow shone brightly in the 40th Sub Junior, 8th Cadet, 42nd Junior and 41st Senior Kyorgi and 8th Poomse Uttar Pradesh State Taekwondo Championship and won the overall championship trophy with the maximum 27 gold medals. On the other hand, the team of Agra won 24 medals with eight gold, six silver and 10 bronze and remained runner-up.
In the championship organized by Lucknow District Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Taekwondo Association in the multi-purpose hall of KD Singh Babu Stadium on Sunday night, the players of Lucknow won a total of 103 medals including 27 gold, 31 silver and 45 bronze, due to which the host team remained in the lead. In this championship, the team of Agra was the runner-up with a total of 24 medals including 8 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze. The team of Lakhimpur-Kheri got the third position with a total of 19 medals including 6 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze.
In the closing ceremony of the championship, Uttar Pradesh Taekwondo Association President Shailesh Kumar Singh Shailu honoured the medal winners by awarding them. While presiding over the closing ceremony, Secretary Rajkumar expressed his gratitude. On this occasion, Uttar Pradesh Taekwondo Association supervisor Santosh Kumar Maurya (TGT Physical Education, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Babina Cantonment, Agra Division), treasurer Devendra Singh along with other officials and officials of various district associations were also present.
