News India Live, Digital Desk: Whenever it comes to office work, email or online meeting, our mind first comes to the names of American tech veterans like Google and Microsoft. Google Docs, Gmail, Microsoft Office … These have all become an important part of our digital life. But what if the Government of India itself instead of using these foreign companies, starts insisting on using a ‘Make in India’ software?
Yes, something similar is being seen. Union Railway, Communications and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav now suited software in India “Zoho” (Zoho) Promoting He has appealed to all government agencies to adopt it, so that our sensitive data remains safe within the country and we can become self -sufficient in terms of technology.
After all, what is this Zoho?
Zoho is not a new company. It is a Chennai -based Indian technology company, which was started in 1996 by Sridhar Vambu. Today Zoho serves millions of customers worldwide and is giving direct competition to companies like Microsoft and Google.
You can consider it a ‘all-in-one’ office package. Like Microsoft in its ‘Microsoft 365’ serves many services like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, in the same way Zoho also its own ‘Zoho Workplace’ I offer all these things and even more:
- For email and chatting: Zoho Mail and Zoho CLIQ
- To make documents, spreadsheets and presentation: Zoho Writer, Zoho Sheet, Zoho Show (These work like Google Docks and MS Office)
- For video conferencing and online meeting: Zoho meeting
- For project management: Zoho Projects
Apart from this, ZOHO also offers more than 50 different business apps, which makes it a complete package for any company or government office.
Why is the government promoted to Zoho?
There are two biggest and important reasons behind this:
- Data Security: When we use the software of foreign companies, then all our data, whether it is personal or government, stores on their server which are outside India. Due to this, there is a risk of misuse of data. ZOHO is an Indian company and its data center is also in India. This means that our data will be more secure within the boundaries of the country.
- Self -reliant India: Under the Modi government’s ‘self -reliant India’ campaign, promoting technology made in the country is a major goal. Zoho is a great example of this. It is a matter of pride for an Indian company to compete with Google and Microsoft at the global level.
Supporting Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to Zoho is not just a software promotion, but it is a change of thinking – to be ‘vocal for local’. This step shows that India now wants to become not just a consumer, but also a manufacturer in terms of technology.
