Color-coded AQI scale

To help users better understand the air quality of their city, Google Maps has added a color-coded AQI scale to its platform. These stats, which update hourly, will be visible on both the app and desktop. The AQI scale ranges from 0 to 500. The lower the AQI of your city on this scale, the cleaner the air of your city.

  • 0–50: good air (green)
  • 51–100: satisfactory (yellow)
  • 101–200: moderate to weak (orange)
  • 201–300: bad (red)
  • 301–400: Very poor (violet)
  • 401–500: extremely dangerous (dead)

With the help of these colors visible on a scale on Google Maps, users can easily understand what the AQI is in their city and whether it is safe to go out in such conditions.
