Opposition parties Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress MLAs are cornering the government on the issue of increasing crime in the state and increasing the reservation limit.

Uproar over reservation: As soon as the proceedings of the House started, the opposition members started creating noise demanding increasing the limit of reservation. Many members reached the ‘well’ (near the Speaker’s seat) with placards in their hands.
Opposition performance: Opposition MLAs under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav staged a protest outside the assembly complex. The opposition alleges that law and order has completely collapsed in the state and the ‘double engine’ government is running only on paper.
Shocking statement of Ranvijay Sahu: There was an uproar in the House on one side, while RJD MLA Ranvijay Sahu praised Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and called him ‘PM material’. He said that the entire opposition is with Nitish Kumar, due to which the political rumblings in the House intensified for some time.
Women safety issue: Opposition members have in recent days demanded the resignation of the government over increasing crimes against women.

Nitish-Rabri controversy: Recently, there was a heated argument in the Legislative Council between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi. Tejashwi Yadav has expressed strong objection to Nitish Kumar’s use of words for Rabri Devi.
Seven determinations-3: The main focus of this time’s budget is on the Chief Minister’s ‘Saat Nishchay-3’ project, under which huge investment is planned on rural infrastructure and education.
