Durgapur: Once again an incident that puts humanity to shame has come to light from Durgapur in West Bengal, which has spread sensation and anger in the entire area. A case of gang rape of a second year student studying in a medical college has come to light here. The horrific incident happened late on Friday night when the student was returning to her hostel from a friend’s birthday party.
What is the whole matter?
According to the information, the victim is a student of a reputed medical college in Durgapur. On Friday night she had gone to attend a friend’s birthday party. While returning from the party, when she was near her hostel, some unknown miscreants forcibly caught her and took her to a nearby deserted area. There the accused committed the heinous act of gang rape with her.
Admitted to hospital for treatment, police engaged in investigation.
After the incident, the accused fled leaving him in a critical condition. Somehow, gathering courage, the student reached her hostel and narrated her ordeal to her friends, after which she was immediately admitted to the Medical College hospital for treatment, where her condition remains stable.
As soon as information about the incident was received, local police and senior officials reached the spot. Based on the statement of the victim, the police have registered a case against unknown accused and have started searching for them. Police are scanning the surrounding CCTV footage and trying to identify the accused.
After this incident, there is a lot of anger among the students of the medical college and they have demanded the arrest of the accused as soon as possible.
