Husband gives triple talaq to wife for refusing to have relationship with boss, case registered

A 45-year-old man has been booked in Maharashtra’s Kalyan on serious charges of giving triple talaq and mental torture to his 28-year-old second wife. The accused has been identified as Sohail Shaikh, who is a software engineer by profession. The complaint claims that the husband pressured his wife to have physical relations with his boss and arrange for Rs 15 lakh every month.

Marriage and beginning of controversy

The victim told that she was married to Sohail Sheikh in January 2024. Just a few months after their marriage, Sohail reportedly told his second wife that he wanted to divorce his first wife. For this he needs huge amount of money.

Demand of Rs 15 lakh every month

According to the complaint, Sohail forced his wife to bring Rs 15 lakh every month from her parents. When the woman refused to accept this demand, he started putting more pressure on his wife.

Sohail allegedly demanded his wife to have physical relations with his boss during a party. When the woman rejected this demand, Sohail beat her up and threw her out of the house by giving her triple talaq.

Police complaint and investigation

After the incident, the victim reached the local police station on December 19 and lodged a complaint against her husband.

• Police action:
  • On the complaint of the victim, a case was registered at Sambhaji Nagar City Police Station.
  • Later this case was transferred to Bazaar Peth police station.
• Test:
  Police have confirmed that the woman was physically and mentally tortured. Also, the investigation into the allegation of forcing her to have physical relations with another man is also going on.

First reaction in the case of triple talaq

Commenting on the incident, Kalyan SP said that this matter is serious and its investigation is being done on priority basis. However, the accused has not been arrested yet.

Triple talaq and harassment allegations

The woman also alleged in her complaint that:

• Her husband tortured her physically and mentally.
• He threw her out of the house after saying “talaq” three times.
• The accused pressurized him to raise money for his first wife.
