Nagpur: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that if more and more Muslim youth become IAS or IPS then it will be beneficial for the society. Speaking at the convocation of Nanmuda Institute, he said that I never do politics in the name of caste or religion. I had already told my friends that even if I lose the election, I will never ask for a vote in the name of caste or religion.

Gadkari gave the example of Anjuman-e-Islam Engineering College (Nagpur), saying that when he was a member of the Legislative Council, he had allowed this institute because according to him the Muslim community needs the most education.

Gadkari said that more engineers, IPS and IAS officers should be made from the Muslim community, only then the society will develop. He is former President Dr. A.P.J. Giving the example of Abdul Kalam, he said how education can take a person to great heights.

Gadkari said that today thousands of students have become engineers under the banner of Anjuman-e-Islam, which proves that education can change life. If they had not got the opportunity to study, they might not have progressed. Gadkari advised the Muslim community that the power of education is the only means by which the whole society and the country can move forward.

Referring to his political journey, Gadkari said that whoever talks about caste, he will kick him. Gadkari clarified that his views are not part of any electoral strategy, but the principles of his life.

He further said that even though he has to face defeat in elections due to his thoughts or lose a ministerial position, he will never compromise his ideology.
