Important Border Crossings Between Thailand and Cambodia Closed

News India Live, Digital Desk: Border Dispute Heats Up Again: The tension on a long -standing border of the two countries between the forces of Thailand and Cambodia has increased again, causing two Thailand soldiers injured in a recent clash. The incident came to light when the Cambodian army stopped some Thai people smuggling wood along its border, in response to which Thai military personnel reached there to help their communities.

Thailand’s Chandhaburi-Tarat Task Force confirmed that the incident occurred on the border with Sa Kaio province. It is reported that the Cambodian army had stopped two Thailands, who were crossing the border and cutting trees illegally in the forest. When the Thai soldiers reached the spot to save them, the first Verbal Arguments between the two sides and then the firing started shortly. In this clash, which occurred on the border of Bantei Meenchi province (Cambodia) and Sa Kaio province (Thailand) of both countries, two soldiers from Thailand suffered minor injuries. Thankfully, there was no loss of someone’s life.

Immediately after the incident, two important boundary naked (main border crossing point) were discontinued as a precautionary Ban Lam (Ban Laem) and Khalong Luk connecting Cambodia and Thailand. This step was probably raised to calm the situation and prevent stress from growing. Both countries have instructed their senior officials to call a joint border committee meeting to investigate the incident and prevent such incidents in future. Tension and armed clashes have been seen many times in the past about the temple area on this disputed border.
