Kanpur, 31 August (HS). On Saturday morning, near Bakothi village in Araul police station area, the police had an encounter with the criminals of an inter-district gang. In the encounter, a criminal was injured by a bullet. While the police managed to arrest his two companions. The police admitted the injured criminal to the hospital for immediate treatment. The police team recovered illegal pistol, cartridges and DVR of the robbery at Bakothi petrol pump from the possession of the criminals.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Rajesh Kumar Singh said that Amit alias Phulai, son of Rameshwar, a resident of Behta Mujawar village of Bangarmau police station area of Unnao district, who was injured in the encounter, has been admitted to CHC Bilhaur Hospital for treatment. While his two accomplices, Avnish, son of Rajendra Singh, a resident of Nardoli village of Sikandarpur Vaishya police station area of Kasganj district and Sarjeet, son of Nawab Singh, a resident of Vijaynagar Nardoli village of the same police station area, have been arrested.
During interrogation, the arrested criminals told the police team that they have confessed to looting the Bakothi petrol pump and committing other thefts in the area. Intensive interrogation is being done. The team involved in the encounter will be given a cash reward of Rs 25,000.
More than 8 criminal cases have been registered against the criminal injured by the bullet. Information about the criminal history of other criminals is being collected.
