Varanasi, 23 August (HS). The state's Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Political Pension Minister Dharmpal Singh has emphasized on making all the cow shelters operating in the district self-reliant. The minister also gave instructions to do 100 percent ear tagging of the destitute cows protected in all the cow shelters, breed improvement, castration of calves. While reviewing the cow shelters in the local circuit house on Friday, the minister said that
In every Gaushala, one Gokshath making machine should be handed over to the local women of self-help group. This will not only improve their economic condition but will also strengthen the condition of the Gaushalas.
The minister, while instructing to make regular payments to the dairy farmers, said that all the cow shelters should have protection from rain, adequate light, green fodder, adequate availability of straw. He also asked to preserve good breed cows in Kanha Gaushala, make bio products from cow dung, and perform cow worship in every cow shelter on the occasion of Janmashtami. The minister called upon the youth to increase contact with cows and become animal friends.
District Panchayat President Poonam Maurya, Chief Development Officer Himanshu Nagpal, representatives of MLAs, Deputy Dairy Development Officer, Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer etc. were also present in the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Chief Development Officer Himanshu Nagpal told about the progress of the schemes run by the Animal Husbandry Department in the district.
