India rejected US report
India has dismissed the 2025 report of the US International Religious Freedom Commission (USCIRF). Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that this report is biased and inspired by politics and it is an attempt to weaken India’s democratic and tolerant image, which will never succeed.
Demand to declare USCIRF as ‘worrying institution’
India reacted sharply, saying that USCIRF itself should be nominated as a worrying institution as it has been weakening tolerance and harmony. The report deliberately presented the wrong image of India’s multicultural society, which is only part of one agenda.
Allegations made on India rejected
USCIRF claimed in its report that India has increased discrimination and attacks against religious minorities in 2024. Also, the report demanded a ban on India’s foreign intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), which India has described as baseless.
Allegations on RAW baseless
The report also said that RAW has been involved in the murder of Sikhs separatists and is discriminating against minorities. India completely dismissed this claim and described it as a prejudiced report, which is far from reality.
India has made it clear that it will not give any importance to this biased report and has questioned the constant wrong assessment of USCIRF.
